Black and White 1972-1980
From my first photo course to 1980 I was a black and white purist... employing the zone system and “pre-visualizing” everything. At that time I was heavily influenced by a kind of west coast, formal, large camera, mysticism. When I left the view camera for the hand held medium format camera, and my images took on a more casual look, I still kept all that west coast formalism in mind.
